"We get rolled over by the crashing waves of life, on a different shore than our parents had, on a different shore than our children will have.
We resurface, with some water through our noses, some sand down our throats, and we take another step forward towards deeper water.
Defiant, jubilant some times, with a certainty that we will defeat the waves.
By the time we make it to where the sea is calm our feet no longer touch the ground. We float and feel free, the tamed waves amuse us.
Only then we look back and realize some of us are missing.
Where did they go, how do we find them?
In the vastness of the sea around us we wonder if they lost their way,
Or we did."
